I knock. Ben opens the door.
“Hi, again.” I feel like a sixteen-year-old girl with the intentions of a twenty-eight-year-old woman. “Thanks for the cigarette,” I say, hoping I can pull this off before my nicotine buzz wears off. “What are you up to?”
“Watching TV,” he says.
I lean against the wooden rail of the porch and tap my fingers nervously. “Can I join you?”
Ben looks surprised, but then slowly smiles. “Sure.” He steps back from the doorway to let me in.
“Beer?” he asks.
I nod.
Ben heads into the kitchen.
I walk into the living room and sit down on the familiar couch, reliving our make-out session—hoping he wants a repeat performance as much as I do.
