Author, owner of a boutique publishing company, pilot, and aviation enthusiast, Dorota Skrzypek’s writing is as daring and diverse as her background. Re-introducing graphic novels for the adult, Dorota’s latest muse has created books that are eye-catching, bold, and thought-provoking.

Collaborating with an artist from Montreal for her first book, The Dentist and The Toothfairy vividly depicts a fantastical world of glamorous temptresses, haunting forests, an immortal toothfairy, and a dentist’s struggle between love and obsession. Printed as an over-sized coffee table book, the gothic fairytale took home the honorable mention as “Outstanding Book of the Year: Best Book Arts Craftsmanship” at the 2006 Independent Publisher Book Awards.

Further pushing traditional book design limits with her second project, Dorota has tackled the subject of relationships with a sleek, sassy, modern book that looks and feels like a magazine. Sex, Life, & Hannah :: Volume 1, Winter Season is a page-turning ride through one woman’s emotional and sexual journeys in and out of love.

Although dramatically different in writing style, mood, characters, and design, Dorota’s books draw upon many of her experiences as a single woman, avid traveler, and determined business entrepreneur. She constructs her characters with depth and multi-dimension allowing them space to flourish, and the tales to twist and turn unexpectedly—much like her own life.
