I’ve wanted Sex, Life, & Hannah to be about more than just books for a while now, and I’m not just talking about it one day becoming a smash hit on TV, or hulu, or whatever other flavor of the month. There are more important things in life than our own celebrity-ism. Jon Favreau recently said in July’s issue of Esquire (yes, it’s still my fave magazine), “When your life becomes about something bigger than you, ironically, that’s when it becomes the most fulfilling”.
I want people to know that when they buy a Sex, Life, & Hannah book or product they’re becoming part of something bigger, which is why I’ve teamed up with Busted Foundation and their annual Bowling for Boobies event.
Here is the low-down:
Bowling for Boobies® is Busted Foundation’s annual charity bowling tournament. Busted Foundation provides monetary assistance to women fighting and living with breast cancer. This year, celebrity bowlers Jane Wiedlin of The Go Go’s and Thomas Lennon of RENO 911 take their strikes at breast cancer and help raise money for this great cause. Whether you’re a great bowler or not, come out to have fun and support women in need.
When: Sunday October 24th, 2010, 5PM -10PM.
Where: Jillian’s on Universal City Walk.
How you can support through Sex, Life, & Hannah:
1. Become part of the Sex, Life, & Hannah Bowling Team. Raise money and compete in the tournament with me. There will be prizes and awards for top fundraisers and bowlers. Each team will receive gift bags with event t-shirts by Music City Merchandise, both Sex, Life, & Hannah books, and more.
2. Buy a book, book club membership, or both. $2 from every book or book club membership purchase supports Busted Foundation and women fighting and living with breast cancer.
3. Come out to the event on October 24th! A donation at the door gets you in to meet women that have benefited from past Bowling for Boobies tournaments. A $20 donation gets you one hour of bowling. Enjoy raffles, complimentary appetizers, PINKY vodka cocktails, and Estrella Creek Wines. Mingle with celebrities, and dance to music all night long.
Please help me spread the word, tell your friends, retweet, repost. Get some fun summer fiction AND support a great cause!
