Me and hubbie arrived in Calgary last night around 7pm. It was an extra smooth trip; the L.A. rain gave way to the sun, the subway was near empty, and the bus from Union Station to LAX departed five minutes after we got there. The plane was an hour late, so the fact that we were cutting it close to boarding time didn’t matter. An old friend from flight school was piloting our ship so we got free Canadian Club whiskey to make the three and half hour tour pass with more amusement. My mom, the always perfect hostess, had a hot dinner of pork ribs, potatoes, veggies, and salad waiting for us the minute we walked through the door. And of course the zubrowka was on the table; the perfect apres dinner drink that makes any worries of work, bills, and the fact that hubbie forgot his boxer briefs seem so far away.
It’s good to be home for the holidays. Merry Christmas everyone.
